Latest Release

Here you are, as promised. There's a sample world and the MCEdit schematic. While playing, I had the clock stop when I got too far away. I'll be trying to fix that, but while I do, check out the work I've done. It works the same as the last update, but it doesn't kill servers! Also, bring however many friends you want, it should work with any number (you may still want to limit how many people you invite, though). Final thought: If anyone wants me to make a video of me playing, let me know and I'll do it; I may even bring a friend.

Optimization

Hey there. Sorry that I haven't posted recently, but I am still working on Time Bandit. I've actually cut the command blocks down to 1/4 of what it used to be. I've also greatly reduced the lag! Right now, I'm working on other small additions such as cashing in levels for time and regeneration potions temporarily stopping the clock. These "small" additions are actually proving to be harder to implement than I anticipated. I will be releasing an MCEdit schematic for the new stuff after I polish it up and make sure it actually works without needing to try to figure out what I broke (sorry for all the times Time Bandit didn't work.)

Multiplayer is Done!

Hey there, all of you, and by all of you, I mean the three people who visit this blog. I finished multiplayer finally. It wasn't hard, I was just doing other things, such as sleeping. Anyway, here's a link to an example survival world, a MCEdit schematic, and a bonus schematic before I hid all of the redstone behind walls. I hope you all enjoy, and beware of server lag. Seriously, that stuff is dangerous. Pro tip: have a good host computer and throw a LAN party with all of your friends. Me and a buddy tried it over LAN, and it worked rather well, but that's the only stress testing I've done. Okay, I'm done rambling, go have fun. Be sure to send feedback.

I Ran Into Difficulties

Sorry, I lied about having multiplayer done yesterday (please don't hurt me.) I got a friend to help me test, and it turns out that not having an amazing Minecraft server makes the redstone lag for everyone who isn't the host. In fact, we were so out of sync, he died a half a minute on my screen before he died on his own, and seconds from his perspective weren't a thing. So, after I finish the redstone, I'll test with him again. I'll be attempting to further reduce the lag via redstone. I'll release a test world/MCEdit schematic after the current redstone is finished and another if I manage to compact it.

Multiplayer Update

Hey everyone. I've worked on the project some tonight, and I've almost got multiplayer going! It will support 4 players at one time. There's one issue though: I've tested it with a friend, and his client doesn't seem to stay in sync with the server. I'm not sure if this is lag generated by the many command clocks or general unstable-ness from being in a snapshot. Either way, when I finish it up tomorrow, I'll release a new random seed survival world with multiplayer in it and an MCEdit schematic just as I have in the past.

Move from r/minecraft

Hey there! So I made a nifty redstone and command block contraption in Minecraft a few days ago based on the concept that you had a timer that acted as your health. I posted it on Reddit to r/minecraft; It got a few views. I have no established reputation in the Minecraft community, so I didn't expect to get many views anyway. Due to the nature of Reddit though, posts have a short life span, and once they expire, almost no one will see it again unless they dig it up or have it saved. I didn't want my project to get lost forever, so I'm attempting to give it a home in the form of a blog. I'll be working on the project for at least a few weeks as I try to make the redstone more efficient and as I try to implement multiplayer. Once I'm satisfied, I'll probably move to other neat Minecraft projects, but whatever I do, I'll be making a blog for it.

The first video I made showcasing the concept

Here's a link to a public folder which currently contains an MCEdit schematic and an example survival world. Note that I made this in the 14w19a snapshot.
